For this morning

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air’s salubrity.

-----Emerson

We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch, we are going back from whence we came.

Comings and Goings

One of the things I like most about our blog is that it is digital "top ten" list.  It hits the highlights of our life and I choose to put the best of the best here to memorialize the wonderful memories we make. The other 90% of our life is great too. It is the chaos of painting one room (finally after 3+ years!), the busyness of adjusting to working outside our home, of two kids with definite opinions and their own schedules, of a husband who always has a project up his sleeve.  The stuff that doesn't make it on the blog isn't boring. It is beautiful sometimes too. But this space, is where I put the happiest minutes of our days, so that I remember them.  Because right now those lovely minutes fly by.
Two weeks ago, Russ and I had the honor of attending a benefit that honored my maternal grandparents.  We got dressed up and were blessed to have Talina come play with the kids.  It was a lovely night.

Life looks more like this though. Stick suckers, pink ruffles, tired-wonderful daddy and and unmade bed.

I turned thirty back in September.  Russ gave me an Boston pencil sharpener--in the original box!!! I love it and it provides a lot of entertainment for the family.

Saturday morning last week.  PJs, Lincoln logs,  Pancakes on the floor.  Good times.

The newest member of our family.  Magnolia Sassybritches Essman.  We call her Nola mostly.

At Piotique this year.  Bea was WonderWoman, courtesy of Amy and Kit's awesome birthday present! Evie was a transformer--Optimus Prime I think.

With this guy around, I think life is pretty amazing.

It was busy.  I wish I had parade pictures. Russ lead the Legion's Color Guard and started the parade. I was stinkin' proud!
She already knows how to embarrass him! I love it!

tutu cute...I couldn't not say it.

This band was fun! Just like Star's Hollow...

The next day we took a mini-vacation to Milford Lake and Nature center. It was amazing. The kids loved the playground.  I loved the weather and being outside with my family!

I promise he really loves taking pictures together, really...

So the Karate Kid, not as great as I remembered. Pretty boring. But E liked it and practiced his poses!

Both my kids have become tree climbers.  Happy me!

as a matter of fact she does have us wrapped around her precious little fingers, why do you ask?

my favorite time of year.

He does all his own stunts.

so does she.

Sometimes when you love someone, you give them what they want. Russ really wanted this chair. As Derek said, the comfort ratio of chairs is inversely related to their aesthetic appeal. SO this is one comfy chair...
He lost his first tooth.  And as further proof of karma, I almost lost my dinner.  He was pretty excited.  I am still recovering--who said he could grow up so fast?

This happens now.  She is very happy. Nola not so much.  Nola needs to hide better.

Come visit me so I can purr on you.

Upcoming:  We painted our room and I have pictures!  The annual pumpkin patch/hayrack ride is soon and we are planning a trip to CO before it gets too much colder!   And for anyone interested, I have a weeks worth of outfit posts....
