Weekend Tomfoolery
And the winner/s is/are!
A day late and a dollar short, as per usual! Everett helped me with the drawing for the 100th post giveaway, so without further ado:
The first winner is Nicole and the second is Miss Amy (of KrimsonBlue). If you ladies would be so kind as to leave a mailing address in the comments, I will try to get your goodies off to you by the end of the week!

Dreams to reality and realty
Here is our new house! The outside is pretty typical for a turn-of-last-century bungalow, I love the porch, and plan on painting the porch swing to match our bench. Everett loves the the new house (so far at least!)
This is the built in china cabinet in the formal dining room, The glass is leaded and really sparkles when the light hits it. The big window also has a long window seat, swoon!
Russ calls this room "Grand Central station, it is essentially a hallway with lots of closets and doors, Everett loved hiding in the tall closets.
This fireplace is in the reading parlor off the livingroom. I love the tiles.
This will be the kids room for starters, lots and lots of sunshine. I don't even mind the green paint. The oak floors are gorgeous and in excellent condition through the house.
One thing I noticed when trying to take pictures--it is a lot harder than it looks! This is the kitchen of course, I love the old cabinets.
The big picture window in the livingroom and one of the radiators.
The parlor has built in bookcases on either side of the entrance.

It isn't Sunday, but Hurray for 100 Posts!
Recently my mom and I have been talking about blogging. I am trying to convince her to start her own blog, mainly because I want to "see" their life in North Carolina the same way she likes to see ours in Kansas. This blog allows me to connect to my family, express myself creatively, and make a scrapbook of sorts. I love how through blogs, I can connect with creative, talented women all over the world. The inspiration I get from blogging reminds me to keep making things and taking pictures and to be thankful for all the little things that make life beautiful.
So in honor of all the lovely people who inspire me and my 100th post, I am having a giveaway! Like many crafty people, I have accumulated quite a trove of vintage trim, patterns, and other pretties. I think the best way to celebrate what I love is to share some of that. To enter in the giveaway, leave a comment on this post. I will draw names a week from today. Good luck and thank you for being a part of my life.

A whole lot can happen in 2 weeks
First, exciting news for the Essman family, we are moving! Tomorrow we sign papers on our new house as well as signing papers on the sale of our current abode. In less than two weeks we have not only found our dream home but also worked out the details to sell our current house. As much as we love our first little cottage with Beatrice on the way and Everett growing every day, it is time for a change. We will be moving into an Arts & Crafts style bungalow built in 1908. It is located on a quiet street in a lovely town that has, within walking distance, a library, a post office, a grocery store, the courthouse, a park, a couple of restaurants, and a little zoo! It has four bedrooms, a gorgeous livingroom with attached reading palor, formal dining room, kitchen with a breakfast nook, storage, space, a washline both inside and out!, and wall-to-wall oak floors. I only wish I had brought my camera last time we toured the house, because I desperately want to post pictures! Oh well, soon enough I suppose.
So in the meantime, we have to finish all the little repairs in the cottage and then or maybe simultaneously, start packing. This morning I called to secure moving boxes and on Saturday I can pick them up! I am quite thankful that in the past year we have done some serious housecleaning, it means less junk to move now! We hope to be completely moved in by Memorial Day, which is kinda funny, because when we bought this house we closed right before Memorial day and were working on the property over the holiday.
In other exciting news, I am coming up quite quickly on my 100th post! To celebrate I am going to do a giveaway, as that seems to be the popular thing to do. So check back by Sunday to see all the little suprises I have planned!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice-cream!
Spider Monkeys, Jungle Gyms, and Monday Evening at the Park
In our typical Monday fashion we spent the late afternoon and evening at the park. Everett made some new friends (not pictured) and a lovely time was had by all!
For Everett, the best part of the park is being able to Run, Run, Run. And yes, it did need to be capitalized. Thankfully this park is enclosed, because just beyond the equipment is a large fishing pond. Someday, we will give it a try, just not yet.
Evie still prefers the challenge of climbing up the slide. It apparently makes the reward of sliding down that much better.
He also likes to give mommy and daddy new grey hair by climbing as high as he possibly can. He is without a doubt, part spider-monkey.
Trust me, it is much taller than it looks.
Likewise with this pole. His dad insisted that I hold the camera and not freak out. Easier said than done.
Start at the bottom and work your way up.
