A few decades ago, something really amazing happened. I didn't know it then, I wasn't even born yet, but on May 28, 1979, my life changed forever. Today I am thankful that my sweet, intelligent, patient, loving, creative, intensely focused, organized, very handsome, selfless, giving, hardworking, (did I mention how handsome he is?) husband was born. With out him my life would be much less wonderful.

Family Shenanigans
Once upon a time it was sunny and warm.... Thank goodness I took pictures, otherwise I would forget.
Russ got these nifty plates at a thriftstore. They are army surplus from WWII. We tried them out with beanie-weenies and mac-and-cheese, after Everett and Russ put out the fire of course.
Our garden is flourishing in the wet weather we are having. Currently only the lettuce and spinach are ready, but they are ready in abundance! We are enjoying delicious salad almost every night with plenty left over to share!
Garage-sale playdate
The day of our yardsale, Cristen and Julian stopped by for a play-break. Bea had so much fun. It was the first time they have really played together. I just can't believe how fast they are growing up. It seems like yesterday we were laying them side-by-side in the hospital! Julian has a few weeks on Bea but she keeps up pretty well!
Favorite Things
One of my Great-Grandmother's sayings was "A house without flowers is like a burnt out village." I love this time of year because it is so easy to fill my house with beautiful arrangements from the backyard! Currently the entire place smells like peonies--so sweet and heady.
I arranged these flowers for my Oma's birthday, but couldn't resist taking a picture of them before I brought them to her party.
I love my bedroom, even when the bed isn't made--it is such a sanctuary.
This amazing fruit bowl was a Mother's day present from my mama. I love it!
