It is amazing to think of all the things that have happened since I started this blog. Some have been documented for the ages in this techno-scrapbook but many more haven't. I don't remember them any less and while some I meant to share others just weren't right for this space. When I asked what type of post this should be I got a lot of varied responses. Taking those ideas into consideration this post has a lot going on!
First up a super easy tutorial.
How to turn a grandpa cardigan into that oh so "now" boyfriend cardigan. You will need:
A long oversized sweater preferably with pockets
A "boyfriend" style cardigan or regular cardigan that fits just right!
A sewing machine, thread that matches your soon-to-be chic cardi, pins, and sharp scissors.
Lay your oversize sweater flat and buttoned and then turn inside out.
Take your favorite fit cardigan and aline the shoulder seams. You should have a surplus to the right and under the pit seam.
Pin the excess so you can sew new seams.
Sewing approximately 1/8 of an inch to the left of your pins, create a new arm and side seam. This should tailor the cardigan to your specifications! Super easy, even with Bea's help this took me about an hour start to finish. So if you have a little time to yourself, I imagine it could be done in 30 minutes.
Your final step is to trim close to your new seam removing the excess fabric.Repeat all steps on the other sid and then slip your cozy cardigan over your favorite jersey dress or pair of jeans and you are ready to go!

Oh, if you are wondering where you can find oversized cardigans because you don't have any and you want to try this, head to your nearest thrift store and check the men's sweaters. Seriously, go for grandpa's cardigan!
Sadly my camera is really misbehaving. I think it is dying. It has given me four years of very loyal service and thousands and thousands of pictures. I will keep taking shots, but I am really hoping that the elves are reading this and that they pass along my wish for a new camera to Santa!

It makes me sad that all my outside shots are over-exposed. The colors are so amazing right now and I can't capture them at all. Thank goodness fall comes every year.
An action shot of my boy, who has taken to riding his trike almost everywhere. I'll just pretend that the blurry-ness and over-exposure are on purpose, you know for that hipster, "I take cool pictures" look.
My little artists. My dining room has been re-converted to art studio and both my babes are spending lots of time drawing me beautiful pictures! I love it!
