Summer love 2012

For the people who prefer pictures to a thousand words, this post is a repeat of the previous one, except with pretty photos instead of wordy meanderings.

My arm party...yeah, I know. But, I do love to stack the wrist jewelry.  The watch is actually R's. It is a flight/aviation watch, but he hasn't worn it since he stopped flying regularly...so I took it to the jeweler's got a new battery and voila!

she dances everywhere. all the time.

Mess? or artfully arranged chaos?

The perfect summer wedge.  Height without pain! And in real life, my toes are not hangin' over the edge...it's just awkward to photograph your own feet : )

hat? check. chevrons? check! maxi skirt? check. A million bracelets? Of course!  Bang braid is going on under the fedora.... So officially, this outfit combines my current style favorites in one comfy ensemble! Wooohoo!

Round these parts

Life here is settling into the rhythm of summer. Last week was vacation bible school, truly an indicator of the season.  It was my first year to organize and teach and I loved it! It was intense and spectacular and sweet and wonderful.  I think everyone had a good time, which makes my job worth any headache.

Our garden has gone to flower and seed. But it is still lovely to look at, especially the dill and coriander flowers. We have some broccoli coming up too, which is a first.  Most amazing is the large patch of volunteer sunflowers.  None are as tall as last year but they are all over the backyard!

Most days have at least an hour or two of pool splashing, only the blow up one so far. We haven't made it to city pool yet.  Beatrice starts her day an hour earlier than her brother and usually paints a couple pictures before breakfast.  Everett spends a lot of his play time building samurai robots and transformers with his legos and blocks.  Both of my littles continue to surprise me with their own brands of creativity.   We have also been listening to a lot of Allman brothers and CCR on Pandora. So some jam dancing usually follows.

Next weekend we get to meet the long anticipated baby "I"!!! We are also all very much looking forward to our trip to NC!  Only 11 more days WOOOOHHOOOO!  OBX here we come!  Also, mom and dad, we can't wait to do some BBQing, some porch sitting, some coffee walking, and some catching up! We miss ya'll somethin' fierce!!!

Speaking of things (and people I love) here is a short little list of things I am groovin' on!

Neil Gaiman, I just love his sensibility. It makes sense to me.

Norse Mythology, thanks Kit for the beautifully illustrated anthology.

My straw hats! I have 3 and I am wearing them almost all the time.

My bang braids, gotta love being able to see while growing out my bangs!

Stripes, chevrons, and sandals and straw bags! Vacation here I come!

Looking forward to my first education conference on Wednesday!

Lots of love and pictures to come!
