A Tea Party for Two

For turning two that is! Yesterday, our sweet girl celebrated her second year of life. We actually started celebrating on Sunday when Russ's mom came for a visit, but I loaded this set of pictures first.  Miss Bea's favorite game is "tea party" so for her special day, we hosted a very special tea at our house. While I considered inviting more people, I had been cautioned many times to keep it simple, so in the end we invited two families, each of which has a friend for Bea and a friend for Evie. It was a wonderful morning!

Everett and Bea had fun putting together the party favors. The bags were actually leftovers from Evie's first birthday! Can you believe that in less than a month my little boy turns 5? Seriously!!!

While I didn't manage to snap any of her, I want to say a huge thanks to Sarah, who took beautiful pictures and allowed me to be in them!!! What a gift! Now I can show Bea that I was at her party instead of trying to convince her : )

These are a bit out of order, how unusual for me, well, not really...I decided to let the kids decorate their own cupcakes. A success! Also, we decided to let everyone blow out a candle, more fire equals more fun right?

our "tea" was pink lemonade, but we used real teacups.

I love recycling. The little vases we used came from my brother's rehearsal dinner the doily flowers came from Valentine's day!

This is Bea and her friend Evie (pronounced EEvie as opposed to our Ehhvie) The cute fairy wings were a gift from Evie and her sister Emma (Everett's friend) and made by their awesome mama, Angie! Bea was sweet enough to share, at least at that particular moment!

The blue sugar was the favorite cupcake topping by far, although I like the rainbow jimmies best.

In the white dress, next to my sweet boy, is Emma. She is one of Everett's favorite playmates and they can usually be found playing some combination of spykids and superheroes.

Bea was so careful. I don't think she spilled at all, even using the fancy cup!

Oh, I just love this girl so much! So Much! She is a delight and joy, just like her name predicts.

These adorable young men are Isaac (on the left) and Samuel (on the right) they are our neighbors to the North and wonderful friends for my two munchkins! Plus, I think they have one of the best mamas around, and I am super glad she is my friend!

Bea needed a snack break after decorating her cupcake, all that blue-sugar sprinkling took it out of her.

okay, so in case you wondered, I didn't dress us alike on purpose, but many times, we end up matching/coordinating. I like it though, as long as I don't look like I am dressing like my two year old!

pink lemonade, rainbow candles, vintage table cloth, it was SO fun to decorate for a little girl's party!

Don't you love Angie's hat? She looked so chic! And her hat was perfectly appropriate for the festivities!

Thank you, Thank you to Angie and Sarah for bringing your wonderful children over and helping us to celebrate! It was a wonderful birthday party! I hope Bea had as much fun as I did! In exactly one month I will be turning over another year, maybe I should have a tea party too!
